Goldfern Deluxe Wheeled Shower Commode Chair
The Goldfern Deluxe Wheeled Shower Commode Chair combines shower-chair and commode functions in one wheeled bathroom aid, reducing the need to transfer between separate pieces of equipment. The moulded seat has a removable centre section and commode bowl, while a padded backrest, flip-up side handles and swing-away leg rests make access and day-to-day care more practical.
MoveSmart offers the chair in two configurations: Without Kit, using 12.7 cm (5") castors, and With Kit, which adds 61 cm (24") quick-release rear wheels and user brakes for self-propulsion where that is appropriate. Both versions have a maximum user weight of 110 kg.
One Chair for Showering and Toileting
Using one mobile chair for both showering and commode use can simplify bathroom routines, particularly when transfers are difficult or tiring. The centre section of the seat can be removed for commode access, and the bowl can be removed for cleaning or when the chair is being used over a suitable toilet.
The frame and seating surfaces are designed to be straightforward to clean after use. Good hygiene and regular inspection of the seat, castors and brakes are especially important with equipment used in wet areas.
Standard Castor or Self-Propelled Setup
The standard configuration uses 12.7 cm (5") castors and is intended to be moved by an attendant or carer. The rear castors lock to secure the chair when stationary.
The optional self-propelled kit changes the chair substantially by adding 61 cm (24") quick-release rear wheels and user brakes. This can give an appropriate user more independence within a suitable environment, but the bathroom layout, upper-body ability and transfer plan should all be considered before choosing the self-propelled version.
Transfer-Friendly Features
The side handles flip up and the leg rests swing away, creating more space for transfers and access to the chair. The leg rests can then be re-positioned once the user is seated.
Because shower floors can be wet and confined, always lock the chair appropriately before transfers and make sure the route is free from mats, thresholds or other obstacles that could interfere with the castors.

Choosing With Kit or Without Kit
Choose Without Kit when the chair will mainly be pushed by another person and a compact castor setup suits the bathroom. Choose With Kit when self-propulsion is appropriate and there is enough room for the larger rear wheels.
The 61 cm (24") wheels increase the overall footprint and product weight, so measure doorways and bathroom clearances if space is tight.
