Overview

Goldfern Euro Premium Self-Propelled Wheelchair

The Goldfern Euro Premium Self-Propelled Wheelchair is the higher-spec manual wheelchair in Goldfern's everyday range, combining a folding aluminium frame with large 24-inch rear wheels so the seated user can propel the chair independently where they have the strength and ability to do so. It has been independently tested and approved by SGS to meet AS/NZS 3695.1:2011.

MoveSmart offers the Euro Premium in 16 x 16-inch and 18 x 18-inch seat sizes. The adjustable and removable armrests, swing-away footrests, calf strap, lap belt and anti-tip bars give the chair more scope for fit and everyday use than a basic fixed-component wheelchair.

Self-Propelled for Greater Independence

The defining feature of this model is its 24-inch rear wheels. The larger wheels allow an appropriate user to grip the hand rims and move the wheelchair themselves rather than relying entirely on another person to push.

An attendant can still push the chair from behind when needed, so the Euro Premium works well where mobility is shared between independent propulsion and occasional assistance. If the chair will almost always be pushed by another person, the smaller-wheeled Euro Premium Transit may be easier to transport and manoeuvre in some situations.

Two Seat Sizes for a Better Fit

The choice between 16 x 16-inch and 18 x 18-inch seating is important. A wheelchair should provide enough room without being unnecessarily wide, because seat width affects comfort, posture, access to the wheels and the overall size of the chair.

The user should be able to sit back comfortably with appropriate support and without excessive pressure at the sides. If you are unsure which size is likely to suit, compare the measurements with an existing chair that fits well or contact MoveSmart for help.

Adjustable Armrests and Swing-Away Footrests

The armrests flip up for easier side access and can be adjusted for height and length or removed when required. The footrests swing away and detach, helping clear space for transfers and making the chair more compact for transport.

An adjustable calf strap helps support the lower legs behind the footrests, while the included lap belt and anti-tip bars add useful everyday safety features when correctly set up.

Folding Aluminium Frame

The powder-coated aluminium frame folds inward for vehicle transport and storage. At approximately 13.3 kg, the Euro Premium is lighter than many traditional steel self-propelled wheelchairs while still supporting users up to 127 kg.

The 8-inch front castors and solid rubber rear tyres remove the need for tyre-pressure maintenance or puncture repairs, making the chair straightforward to look after for regular community use.

Who Is the Euro Premium Self-Propelled Wheelchair Best Suited To?

This model is a good fit for someone who wants a quality folding manual wheelchair and may propel themselves for at least part of the day. It also suits users who value more adjustment around the arms and footrests than a basic economy chair provides.

If low lifting weight is the main priority, MoveSmart's lighter self-propelled models are worth comparing. If the user does not need to push the chair independently, the Euro Premium Transit provides similar premium seating features with smaller rear wheels.
