Overview

Leg Lifter Strap

The Leg Lifter Strap is a simple manual positioning aid designed to help guide a leg during everyday movements such as getting into or out of bed, moving the foot toward a wheelchair footplate or repositioning the leg onto a footstool. It measures approximately 99 cm / 39 inches long.

A hand or wrist loop at the upper end provides a larger point to hold while the reinforced lower loop supports the foot during a small controlled positioning movement.

When a Leg Lifter Can Help

The strap can be useful when the leg is difficult to lift or guide through the last part of a movement but the user can still control the task safely. Common examples include bringing a leg onto the bed, repositioning it after sitting down or guiding the foot onto a wheelchair footplate.

It is a positioning aid rather than a transfer device. The strap is not designed to lift the person's body weight, pull someone across a surface or replace a hoist, sling or hands-on assistance where those are required.

Compact and Easy to Keep Nearby

The narrow strap format makes the Leg Lifter easy to store beside the bed, in a mobility bag or with other dressing and transfer aids. There are no powered components or adjustments to manage.

Inspect the webbing, loops and internal core before use. Do not use the strap if the material is torn, the loop is damaged or the stiffened core has broken through the outer covering.
