Overview

Merits Indigo Mobility Scooter

The Merits Indigo Mobility Scooter is a feature-rich mid-size scooter for users who want everyday outdoor capability with a more informative dashboard and more built-in storage than a basic tiller model.

The Indigo supports users up to 136 kg, reaches up to 12 km/h, and has a stated maximum range of up to approximately 40 km. Its 400W motor, 11-inch pneumatic tyres, independent suspension and 120 mm ground clearance suit regular community use on appropriate paths and outdoor surfaces.

Where the Indigo Fits in the Merits Range

The Yoga is the compact folding travel scooter. The Roadster is the simpler mid-size value option. The Indigo adds a sunlight-readable LCD display, extra lockable storage and more technology while remaining in the mid-size class. The Urban then steps up to 182 kg capacity, 14-inch wheels and up to 56 km range.

Choose the Indigo when you want more information and storage than the Roadster but do not need the larger footprint and capacity of the Urban or Cross Country.

Sunlight-Readable LCD Dashboard

The LCD dashboard displays speed, battery status, temperature, clock information and maintenance reminders. This gives the rider more at-a-glance information than a conventional analogue tiller display.

Up to 40 km Stated Range

The Indigo has a stated maximum range of up to approximately 40 km. Actual range varies with user weight, terrain, gradients, tyre pressure, battery condition, temperature and driving style.

Storage and Adjustable Legroom

The Indigo includes a front basket, dashboard storage and a lockable under-seat compartment. Adjustable seating and steering-column positions help tailor the driving position, while the legroom can be extended for users who need more space.

Suspension, Braking and Lighting

Independent suspension and shock absorbers on all four wheels help manage normal outdoor surface changes. Electromagnetic braking provides automatic stopping when drive input is released, and LED headlights, tail lights and indicators support visibility.

Is this mobility scooter available for delivery across New Zealand?

We can and do deliver to customers across New Zealand — however, mobility scooters and power chairs are more complex products and can be sizeable, so we generally recommend finding a local retailer who can provide hands-on service and ongoing support. It is also a good idea to test-drive or trial a mobility scooter before committing to a purchase. MoveSmart focuses its sales and servicing within the Central Plateau region, but we are always happy to chat. Get in touch and we can offer advice, suggest a trusted dealer closer to you, or work with you to tailor a solution.

AA Mobility Care Membership
Yellow Auto Centre building with AA Motoring branding under a blue sky.

AA Mobility Care Membership provides peace of mind with comprehensive cover for your mobility equipment.

Every mobility scooter purchased via MoveSmart Mobility Equipment now comes with a 3 year AA Mobility Care Membership!

Where a nominated mobility scooter has become immobile, the AA will attend and, and if they are unable to mobilise the scooter, they will either:

Deliver the owner to their home address and arrange for the mobility scooter to be delivered to the owner's home address as soon as practicable or, if the owner wishes to remain with the mobility scooter, the AA will arrange for recover of both the mobility scooter and the owner to the owner's home address by means of a taxi van. This service is free of charge to the owner, as the cost of the taxi is charged back to the AA.

The AA will not attend any mobility scooter that is immobile at the owner's home address which requires repairs to be carried out.

Mobility Van or Taxi Assistance

Within metropolitan areas only, where mobility vans are available, the AA will make all necessary arrangements to ensure both the owner and their mobility scooter are transported to the owner's home address (or an alternative address as specified by the owner at the time, providing that the distance to the alternative address is no greater than to the home address).

In order for the AA to provide service, the owner must remain with the mobility scooter until the AA Service Provider arrives.
