Overview

True 4-Motor Drive for Rugged Outdoor Terrain

The Pride Outback® 4×4 Powerchair is built for users who need powered mobility beyond smooth indoor floors and sealed footpaths. Four independent drive motors, automotive-grade Smooth Ride Suspension (SRS) and 35.6 cm (14") knobby pneumatic tyres provide traction, ground clearance and ride stability across gravel, grass, rural properties and other suitable uneven terrain.

The Outback 4×4 supports users up to 159 kg, reaches speeds of up to 10 km/h and provides a range of up to 25.75 km at a 136 kg user weight or 27.4 km at 99.8 kg. A 10.7 cm ground clearance at the motors helps it negotiate surface transitions that would be difficult for a conventional indoor-focused powerchair.

Automotive-grade SRS suspension works with the four-motor independent-drive system to maintain control on challenging surfaces. LED lighting supports visibility, while the standard centre-mount footboard can be replaced with optional swing-away leg rests when a different lower-limb setup is required.

Is this power chair available for delivery across New Zealand?

We can and do deliver to customers across New Zealand — however, mobility scooters and power chairs are more complex products and can be sizeable, so we generally recommend finding a local retailer who can provide hands-on service and ongoing support. It is also a good idea to trial a power chair before committing to a purchase. MoveSmart focuses its sales and servicing within the Central Plateau region, but we are always happy to chat. Get in touch and we can offer advice, suggest a trusted dealer closer to you, or work with you to tailor a solution.

Where a nominated mobility scooter has become immobile, the AA will attend and, and if they are unable to mobilise the scooter, they will either:

Deliver the owner to their home address and arrange for the mobility scooter to be delivered to the owner's home address as soon as practicable or, if the owner wishes to remain with the mobility scooter, the AA will arrange for recover of both the mobility scooter and the owner to the owner's home address by means of a taxi van. This service is free of charge to the owner, as the cost of the taxi is charged back to the AA.

The AA will not attend any mobility scooter that is immobile at the owner's home address which requires repairs to be carried out.

Mobility Van or Taxi Assistance

Within metropolitan areas only, where mobility vans are available, the AA will make all necessary arrangements to ensure both the owner and their mobility scooter are transported to the owner's home address (or an alternative address as specified by the owner at the time, providing that the distance to the alternative address is no greater than to the home address).
