The Rehasense Athlon SL is a lightweight carbon fibre rollator for everyday indoor and outdoor walking. Its folding frame, ergonomic handles and standard backrest combine easy handling with a seated rest option.

The NZ range offers Small, Medium and Large sizes, with colour availability varying by size. Choose TPE wheels or soft PU wheels for added shock absorption.

What a Five-Kilogram Rollator Changes in Daily Use

The main point of difference is the carbon-fibre frame and its low lifting weight. Depending on size, the standard Athlon SL weighs about 5.0–5.2 kg before the bag. That can make a meaningful difference when the rollator is folded into a car boot, carried up a small number of steps or handled by a family member or support person.

Low weight does not remove the need for stability or fit. The Athlon SL retains a 150 kg user rating, a cross-folding frame, locking brakes and a rest seat. It should still be fully opened and locked before walking, and the parking brakes must be engaged before sitting.

Three Sizes for Walking Posture and Seat Height

Small, Medium and Large are functional sizes rather than cosmetic options. Small combines a 50 cm seat with 63–79 cm handles; Medium has a 55 cm seat and 66–86 cm handles; Large has a 62 cm seat and 75–104 cm handles using the local specifications. Match the handle range to an upright elbow position and the seat height to safe resting and standing.

Colour availability also depends on size: Small is Black only, Medium is Black or Red, and Large adds White and Sober-Grey. Selecting the size first prevents a preferred colour from driving an unsuitable fit.

Athlon SL, Server or Space LX?

The Athlon SL is the lightweight carbon choice. The Server offers a similar three-size everyday format in aluminium at a lower product tier, with standard weights of about 6.6–6.8 kg. The Space LX is aluminium and focuses more on seated comfort, using a deeper 24.5 cm seat and premium Comfort backrest.

Choose Athlon SL when lifting and transport weight are the priority; choose Server for a practical aluminium all-rounder; choose Space LX when the depth and feel of the rest seat matter more.

Choosing Between TPE and Soft PU Wheels

TPE wheels provide the firmer standard option. Soft PU wheels absorb more vibration on paving joints and uneven paths while remaining puncture resistant. The softer option can improve comfort, although wheel choice does not change the rollator's 150 kg user limit or replace careful route selection.

Fitting and Use

Select by handle range and comfortable seat height, then check the 61 cm overall width against indoor routes. Open the frame fully and adjust both handles evenly. Lock the brakes before sitting.
