Overview

Goldfern Rollator Holder for Mobility Scooters

The Goldfern Rollator Holder for Mobility Scooters is designed to carry a folded rollator on the rear of a compatible Merits mobility scooter. It connects to the scooter's rear attachment slot so the rollator can travel with the scooter rather than needing to be transported separately.

Goldfern currently specifies compatibility with Merits mobility scooters and all current Goldfern Mobility rollator models. Compatibility with other scooter or rollator brands should be checked rather than assumed.

Key Features

  • Rear-mounted rollator carrier for compatible mobility scooters.
  • Connects to the rear attachment slot of Merits mobility scooters.
  • Compatible with all current Goldfern Mobility rollator models.
  • Simple hook-style support for a correctly folded rollator.
  • Works with Goldfern rollators using soft/canvas or metal backrest arrangements.
  • Allows a rollator and mobility scooter to be used as part of the same outing.
  • Rollator should be folded and secured before transport.
  • Compact accessory with no powered components.
  • Holder only; scooter and rollator are sold separately.

Why Choose the Goldfern Rollator Holder?

This holder is useful for scooter users who also rely on a rollator once they reach their destination. It keeps the folded rollator attached to the rear of a compatible Merits scooter and avoids making unsupported claims about universal fit across unrelated scooter brands.

Carrying a Rollator With Your Scooter

A scooter-mounted rollator holder can make combined journeys easier by keeping a compatible walking aid available at the destination. Before ordering, confirm the holder fits the scooter and rollator involved, including the mounting points, folded rollator dimensions and available clearance around lights, reflectors and controls.

Secure the rollator exactly as instructed and check the attachment before every trip. The extra load and rearward projection can change the scooter’s overall length and handling, so allow additional space when reversing, turning or using a lift. Practise loading and unloading on level ground before travelling in public areas.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which mobility scooters does the holder fit?

Goldfern specifies that it connects to the rear attachment slot of Merits mobility scooters.

Does it fit every mobility scooter brand?

No universal compatibility is guaranteed. If your scooter is not a Merits model, check the rear attachment system before ordering.

Which Goldfern rollators are compatible?

Goldfern states that the holder accommodates all current Goldfern Mobility rollator models.

Can it carry a rollator with a soft or canvas backrest?

Yes. Fold and secure the rollator, then position the appropriate lower frame section over the holder hooks.

Can it carry a rollator with a metal backrest?

Yes. A folded rollator with a suitable metal backrest can be positioned over the holder hooks.

Should the rollator be folded first?

Yes. Fold the rollator and secure its folding straps, clips or locking system before placing it on the holder.

Should I check the rollator before driving away?

Yes. Confirm that the rollator is seated correctly on the holder and cannot move free of the attachment during normal scooter travel.

Does the holder include a rollator?

No. This listing is for the holder only. The mobility scooter and rollator are sold separately.

Does it affect the scooter's overall length?

Yes. A rear-mounted rollator extends the overall footprint of the scooter, so allow extra clearance when manoeuvring, parking and passing through confined spaces.

Can I leave the rollator on the holder when reversing?

You can transport the rollator as intended, but remember that the added rear length changes the space required behind the scooter. Check surroundings carefully before reversing.

Is it suitable for carrying other equipment?

It is designed as a rollator holder. Other items should not be carried unless their compatibility and secure attachment have been specifically confirmed.

What should I check before each trip?

Check the holder connection, the rollator's folded lock or strap, and the way the rollator sits on the hooks. Do not use the setup if anything is loose or damaged.

Is the Goldfern Rollator Holder available for delivery across New Zealand?

Yes. This accessory is available for delivery throughout New Zealand.

AA Mobility Care Membership
Yellow Auto Centre building with AA Motoring branding under a blue sky.

AA Mobility Care Membership provides peace of mind with comprehensive cover for your mobility equipment.

Every mobility scooter purchased via MoveSmart Mobility Equipment now comes with a 3 year AA Mobility Care Membership!

Where a nominated mobility scooter has become immobile, the AA will attend and, and if they are unable to mobilise the scooter, they will either:

Deliver the owner to their home address and arrange for the mobility scooter to be delivered to the owner's home address as soon as practicable or, if the owner wishes to remain with the mobility scooter, the AA will arrange for recover of both the mobility scooter and the owner to the owner's home address by means of a taxi van. This service is free of charge to the owner, as the cost of the taxi is charged back to the AA.

The AA will not attend any mobility scooter that is immobile at the owner's home address which requires repairs to be carried out.

Mobility Van or Taxi Assistance

Within metropolitan areas only, where mobility vans are available, the AA will make all necessary arrangements to ensure both the owner and their mobility scooter are transported to the owner's home address (or an alternative address as specified by the owner at the time, providing that the distance to the alternative address is no greater than to the home address).

In order for the AA to provide service, the owner must remain with the mobility scooter until the AA Service Provider arrives.
