Overview

Rear Scooter Storage with a Built-In Cane Holder

The Goldfern Scooter Backpack with Cane Holder combines rear mobility-scooter storage with a dedicated side holder for a walking stick, crutches or umbrella. It is designed for users who want to carry everyday belongings behind the seat while keeping a walking aid available when they reach their destination.

Goldfern specifies waterproof material, a reflective rear strip and an adjustable frame kit that helps support the bag on the scooter. The main compartment uses a Velcro fastening for quick access, while the side holder keeps a compatible cane or similar long item separate from the main storage area.

Why a Rear Scooter Backpack Can Be Useful

A rear-mounted bag offers more flexible storage than carrying loose items on the foot platform or hanging bags from the tiller. Shopping, a light jacket and other personal items can be kept behind the rider without crowding the controls.

The trade-off is that rear storage is less accessible while seated than an armrest bag or front basket. It is best for items that do not need to be reached while driving.

Walking Stick, Crutch or Umbrella Holder

The side holder is designed to carry a suitable walking stick, crutches or umbrella. Whatever is fitted should be secured so it cannot swing toward the wheels, project into a hazardous position or interfere with the rider when mounting or dismounting.

A cane is not included with the backpack.

Fit and Loading

Goldfern describes the backpack as compatible with scooter models generally, but scooter seats, headrests and rear accessories vary. Check that the frame and bag can be fitted securely to the particular scooter and that they do not obstruct seat adjustments, lights or other equipment.

Keep the load sensible and remember that rear-mounted weight can change scooter balance and handling.

Will it fit every mobility scooter?

Goldfern describes broad scooter compatibility, but seat and accessory layouts vary. Check the available rear space and attachment arrangement on the specific scooter before ordering.

Can I use the holder for an umbrella instead of a cane?

Yes. Goldfern specifically lists an umbrella as a suitable item for the side holder.

Is there a published maximum load for the bag?

No separate bag load rating is currently published, so keep the load sensible and within the scooter manufacturer's overall accessory and stability guidance.

Can a loaded rear backpack affect scooter handling?

Yes. Weight behind the seat can change balance and handling. Avoid overloading the bag and distribute contents sensibly.
