Pride Mobility Single Fold Ramp
The Pride Mobility Single Fold Ramp is a portable aluminium access ramp for compatible manual wheelchairs, powerchairs and mobility scooters. It folds lengthwise for transport and storage, with a carry handle built into the frame.
MoveSmart stocks five lengths from 61 cm (2 ft) to 183 cm (6 ft). The ramp line has a maximum total load of 272 kg. The correct ramp length depends on the height of the obstacle and the maximum permitted incline for the mobility device being used.

Choose Ramp Length Carefully
A longer ramp generally creates a gentler slope for the same rise, but the acceptable incline is determined by the wheelchair, scooter or powerchair manufacturer and the individual situation. Never exceed the mobility device's permitted slope. Position the ramp on stable, level support surfaces and follow Pride's setup instructions.
Measure the Rise Before Choosing a Ramp
The Single Fold Ramp needs to be long enough for the vertical rise and the mobility device using it. A longer ramp creates a gentler approach, which is generally easier to manage than a short, steep setup. Measure the full rise, available landing space and doorway clearance, then consider the wheelchair or scooter wheelbase and any low under-frame components.
The supporting surfaces must be firm, level and able to hold the ramp securely at both ends. Check the published load rating against the combined weight of the user and mobility device, and follow the manufacturer’s guidance for gradient and assisted use. Practise on a controlled setup before relying on the ramp for regular access.
Frequently Asked Questions
What lengths does MoveSmart stock?
61 cm (2 ft), 91 cm (3 ft), 122 cm (4 ft), 152 cm (5 ft) and 183 cm (6 ft).
What is the maximum load?
The maximum total ramp load is 272 kg, including the mobility device and occupant.
Can it be used with a manual wheelchair?
Yes, provided the ramp length, slope and load are appropriate for the wheelchair and user.
Can it be used with a powerchair?
Yes, where the powerchair manufacturer permits the resulting incline and the total load remains within the ramp rating.
Can it be used with a mobility scooter?
Yes, subject to the scooter's permitted incline, ground clearance, wheel position and combined weight.
How do I choose the right length?
Measure the vertical rise and available horizontal space, then check the mobility device manufacturer's maximum safe incline. When in doubt, seek advice before choosing a ramp.
Does the ramp fold?
Yes. It folds lengthwise around a central hinge.
Does it have a carry handle?
Yes. A carry handle is built into the folded ramp.
Is the ramp non-slip when wet?
No ramp surface should be assumed slip-proof in wet conditions. Pride warns that the surface may become slippery when wet, so keep it dry and free from debris where possible and use extra caution in poor weather.
Where should the top and bottom sit?
The bottom should be firmly supported on level ground and the top should sit securely against the step or vertical lip according to Pride's instructions.
Should the ramp be secured?
Follow Pride's instructions for positioning and any supplied retaining hardware. The ramp must not shift during use.
Is there a pinch point?
Yes. Keep fingers clear of the centre hinge while folding or unfolding the ramp.
Can children play on the ramp?
No. It is an access device, not recreational equipment.
Should the ramp be inspected?
Yes. Check regularly for damage, wear or loose components and stop using it if its condition is questionable.
Is there a specification sheet?
Yes. The existing Pride Single Fold Ramp Specification Sheet is linked above.
Is the Pride Single Fold Ramp available for delivery across New Zealand?
Yes. All current ramp lengths are available for delivery throughout New Zealand.
