The user places both feet centrally on the grey non-slip surface. During the transfer, the helper steadies and controls the disc with one foot while assisting the user from sitting to standing, rotating them into position, and lowering them onto the destination surface.

How the EasyTRANSFER Disc Is Intended to Be Used

This is a standing pivot disc for the feet. It is not primarily a seated transfer disc.

For a typical bed-to-wheelchair transfer, the wheelchair is positioned as close as practical to the bed and secured against rolling. The transfer disc is placed flat on the floor between the two surfaces with the grey slip-resistant side facing upwards.

The helper places the heel on the floor and the ball of one foot on the disc to prevent uncontrolled rotation. The user’s feet are positioned centrally on the disc. The user is then assisted into standing, rotates while standing on the disc, and is slowly lowered onto the wheelchair once the correct position is reached.

Who Is It Suitable For?

The EasyTRANSFER is intended for a person who can carry their own weight through their legs to a substantial degree and can stand in balance, either independently or with appropriate support. It should always be used with a helper.

It is not suitable where the user cannot bear their own weight, cannot stand securely enough for the transfer, or where a helper is not available. In those situations, a different transfer method such as a hoist may be more appropriate.

Seated Transfer Use with a Transfer Board

The disc can also be used as part of a seated transfer system when combined with the Rolko EasyTRANSFER transfer board. That is an additional use rather than the primary function of the disc on its own.
