icare ActiveFloat™ Overlay – Soft Pressure Relief with Shear Reduction
The icare ActiveFloat™ Overlay is a 50 mm soft pressure-care layer for an existing mattress, combining highly elastic ActiveFloat™ material with SlideSkin™ anti-shear technology. It is designed for users who need additional pressure redistribution while also placing particular importance on reducing friction and shear as the body moves across the surface.
ActiveFloat™ remains elastic even under compression, allowing the surface to move and conform rather than becoming rigid under load. SlideSkin™ adds a second moving membrane so small body movements are less likely to be resisted by the cover. iCare specifies a 30–215 kg user-weight range, a Soft Feel and a manufacturer High Risk pressure-care classification.
The overlay includes a waterproof Zerotec™ cover and may also be suitable over some alternating-air mattresses where an additional comfort layer or reduced heat loss is required, subject to the compatibility of the complete system.

An Overlay Is Part of the Complete Support Surface
The mattress underneath still matters. An overlay should be placed on a structurally sound, supportive mattress that is appropriate for the user. It will not correct a badly sagging, damaged or unsuitable mattress.
