icare IC25 ActiveX™ Mattress – Soft, Deep-Immersion Pressure Care

The icare IC25 ActiveX™ Mattress is the softest and most immersive option in iCare’s main ActiveX™ homecare mattress range. It is designed for users who prefer a more enveloping sleep surface or benefit from greater immersion around prominent pressure areas, while still retaining firm edge support for transfers and sitting.

At 225 mm high, the IC25 is deeper than the IC15, IC20 and IC30. Its multi-layer ActiveX™ construction responds to warmth and pressure, allowing the surface to become more compliant around the body. Bluetec™ and Vant™ fabrics assist temperature regulation and airflow, while Contour-Latch™ helps keep the mattress secured to compatible profiling beds.

iCare classifies the IC25 as a High Risk pressure-care mattress with a Soft Feel and a manufacturer user-weight range of 30–200 kg. Because deeper immersion can make movement harder for some people, transfer ability and in-bed mobility should be considered alongside comfort and pressure redistribution.

Which iCare ActiveX™ Mattress Should I Choose?

Choose the IC25 when a soft, more immersive feel is the priority. The IC15 is the firmest, lowest-immersion option for users who value ease of movement and transfers. The IC20 provides a balanced Medium Feel. The IC30 is also Medium Feel but adds gel- and charcoal-infused ActiveX™ plus reinforced XP Support™ edges and additional cooling-focused features.

A softer mattress is not automatically a better pressure-care mattress for every user. Greater immersion can improve comfort and envelopment but may increase the effort required to roll, reposition or rise from the bed. The best choice balances pressure-care needs with mobility, transfer technique, body weight, comfort, continence and the bed platform.

Who Benefits From Deeper Immersion?

Some users find that a softer, more conforming mattress feels more comfortable around bony or sensitive areas and provides a greater sense of envelopment. That can make the IC25 appealing when firmer surfaces feel uncomfortable.

The trade-off is movement. A person with reduced strength may find it harder to roll or push up from a deeply immersive surface. Firm edge support helps at the mattress perimeter, but it is still worth trialling the mattress with the user’s normal bed mobility and transfer routine where possible.
