icare IC30 ActiveX™ Mattress – Medium Feel with Cooling and Reinforced Edge Support

The icare IC30 ActiveX™ Mattress is the cooling-focused Medium Feel option in iCare’s ActiveX™ homecare range. It combines gel- and charcoal-infused ActiveX™ with reinforced XP Support™ edges, making it particularly useful for users who need high-risk pressure care while also valuing temperature management, a stable transfer edge and easier movement around the mattress perimeter.

At 200 mm high, the IC30 offers a similar overall depth and Medium Feel to the IC20 but uses a more specialised surface construction. The gel infusion is designed to assist heat dispersion, while charcoal contributes to moisture and odour management. Bluetec™ anti-shear cover technology further supports temperature and moisture management around the sleeping surface.

iCare classifies the IC30 as a High Risk pressure-care mattress with a manufacturer user-weight range of 30–200 kg. The anti-slip base and Contour-Latch™ system help secure the mattress to compatible profiling beds, while the flip-free design reduces routine handling.

Which iCare ActiveX™ Mattress Should I Choose?

Choose the IC30 when you want a Medium Feel but place extra emphasis on cooling, moisture management and reinforced edge stability. The IC15 is firmer and lower-immersion for easier movement and transfers. The IC20 is the more straightforward balanced Medium Feel option. The IC25 is the softest and most immersive choice.

The IC30’s extra cooling and edge features do not make it automatically better for every user. Comfort, transfer method, in-bed mobility, body weight, pressure-injury risk, continence and time spent in bed all matter. For users with significant pressure-care needs, mattress selection should be based on an individual assessment rather than the risk category alone.

IC20 or IC30?

The IC20 and IC30 are both Medium Feel mattresses, so the choice is less about basic firmness and more about features. The IC20 is the simpler all-round option. The IC30 adds gel- and charcoal-infused ActiveX™ and XP Support™ reinforced edges, making it worth considering where temperature management, moisture management or a particularly stable mattress perimeter are priorities.

If the user is very sensitive to heat or relies heavily on the mattress edge during transfers, those differences may be meaningful. If not, the IC20 may already provide the right balance of support, immersion and pressure care.
