The Kiwi 1400 is a large single-seat heavy-duty mobility scooter for users who want high load capacity, wide off-road tyres and substantial suspension for rural properties, longer outdoor routes and rougher suitable surfaces. It combines a 1400W motor, 250 kg maximum load, 33 cm (13") extra-wide tyres and hydraulic suspension at both the front and rear.
MoveSmart currently offers the open No Canopy configuration and a Canopy version with the windscreen/canopy setup associated with the Kiwi 1400SS style.
Colours are limited to Blue for the standard 1400S and Burnt Orange for the 1400SS with canopy. Custom colour options are available for pre-order with a delivery time of four to six weeks and on occasion limited edition colours are available in New Zealand.
Choosing Between the Kiwi 1400 and Kiwi 900ES
The Kiwi 1400 is the heavy-duty single-seat option. It is wider, more powerful and more rugged than a conventional road scooter and is aimed at users who need extra capacity and outdoor capability rather than compact dimensions.
The Kiwi 900ES serves a different purpose: it is a large double-seat scooter with a higher combined load capacity for two-person use. Choose the 1400 when one rider needs the stronger 1400W single-seat platform; choose the 900ES when carrying two people is the priority.
1400W Motor and 250 kg Capacity
The 1400W motor and 250 kg maximum load make this one of the higher-capacity mobility scooters in the MoveSmart range. Two 75Ah batteries provide the electrical system for extended outdoor use.
Because this is a large scooter, room to turn, store and transport it matters just as much as motor output. Overall dimensions are approximately 160 cm long, 80.5 cm wide and 143.5 cm high, with a turning radius of around 160 cm.
33 cm (13") Extra-Wide Tyres and Hydraulic Suspension
The Kiwi 1400 uses 33 cm (13") extra-wide off-road tyres with front and rear hydraulic suspension. That combination is intended for more demanding outdoor surfaces than a small urban or travel scooter, including suitable firm grass, formed gravel and uneven private-property routes.
It should still be treated as a mobility scooter rather than an off-road recreational vehicle. Loose gravel, mud, steep slopes and unstable ground can exceed the safe limits of any scooter.
