Carbon Fibre Folding Mobility for Shopping, Outings and Travel
The Pride Mobility GoGo Carbon, also known as the Go Go Carbon, combines a carbon fibre frame, rims and tiller with a compact four-wheel layout. It folds as one unit and can be wheeled like luggage, making it a practical option for trips that combine driving with getting around shops, hotels and smooth public spaces.
Removable armrests are now included as standard with MoveSmart supply. For lifting, the approximately 16 kg transport weight excludes both the battery and armrests. The removable lithium battery weighs approximately 1.8 kg. This distinction matters when deciding what you can comfortably lift into your vehicle.
A 136 kg maximum user weight, up to 16 km range and up to 6 km/h speed provide useful everyday mobility. The compact folding seat and lack of suspension favour portability, so choosing well means checking your seating fit and usual surfaces alongside the weight and dimensions.
Key Features
- Carbon fibre construction: a lightweight frame, rims and tiller help reduce the transport load.
- Removable armrests included: arm support is part of the supplied scooter, with the option to remove them for transport.
- One-piece manual fold: prepare the scooter for storage without separating the chassis into several components.
- Roll it when folded: move between storage, a vehicle and your destination with less carrying.
- Removable lithium battery: a 24 V 12 Ah, 288 Wh pack can be handled separately for charging and travel.
- Compact four-wheel base: approximately 44 cm wide before allowing for fitted armrests.
- NFC ignition and colour display: key-card activation and clear battery and driving information.
- Height-adjustable tiller: adjust the handle position to help achieve a comfortable reach.
- Solid tyres: no routine tyre inflation, with best comfort on smooth, firm surfaces.
- Removable seat base and back: easier access for cleaning and care.
Where the GoGo Carbon Fits in the MoveSmart Range
Choose the GoGo Carbon when you value a compact folding package, a higher user capacity than some ultra-light alternatives and the convenience of handling one chassis. It suits shopping trips, social outings and travel where most riding is on smooth, sealed surfaces.
The STERLING S50 Carbon is another carbon-fibre folding option. Its 13 kg transport figure excludes the battery, seat cushion, armrests, storage bag and wheel trim kit, while its maximum user weight is 120 kg. The GoGo Carbon's 16 kg transport figure excludes the battery and armrests, with a 136 kg maximum user weight. Compare what is removed for each lift, then try the seating and controls.
If suspension and a more conventional seat matter more than one-piece folding, consider the Pride Go Go Endurance Li. It dismantles into five pieces and has front and rear Comfort-Trac Suspension. Folding, Lifting and Checking Your Car Boot
The folding process is manual: fold the backrest, release the folding mechanism and bring the scooter together until it locks. Follow the manual and demonstration for the exact hand positions, keep fingers clear of moving parts and check the scooter is fully open and locked before riding. The chassis remains one piece; removing the battery and armrests reduces the lift but does not split the frame.
For boot planning, the manual shows an upright folded size of approximately 48 cm long × 44.5 cm wide × 67–88 cm high without armrests, depending on the tiller position. Check the actual scooter against the boot opening and internal space, including the loading lip and any other luggage. Fitted armrests change the space required.
A 16 kg lift may still be awkward when you have to reach over a bumper or into a deep boot. Try the complete loading movement with your own vehicle and arrange assistance or a suitable loading aid if needed. Wheeling the folded scooter reduces carrying on the ground; it does not remove the need to lift it into a car.
Seat Fit, Armrests and Everyday Comfort
The compact seat measures 35.6 cm wide × 27.5 cm deep. Its height is fixed at 43 cm above the deck and 57 cm above the ground. Check that your feet sit comfortably on the platform, your knees clear the controls and you can get on and off confidently. The tiller adjusts in height, but the seat does not become higher or lower with it.
The included removable armrests provide arm support; they are not lifting handles for the scooter. A trial should cover reaching the controls, turning, stopping and sitting for the length of outing you expect. The 136 kg capacity alone does not establish suitability.
The approximately 44 cm base width helps with straight-line access, but the 134.6 cm turning radius still needs room. Doorway approaches, tight corners, lifts and the width with armrests fitted all deserve a separate check.
Surfaces, Slopes and Ride Quality
The GoGo Carbon is most at home on shopping-centre floors, indoor public spaces and smooth, firm footpaths. Its solid tyres avoid punctures, but with no suspension and 3.8 cm ground clearance at the motor, bumps and surface joints are more noticeable. Loose gravel, soft grass, broken paving and slippery surfaces are poor matches for routine use.
Ground clearance is not a promise that the scooter can climb an obstacle of the same height. Use suitable dropped kerbs and approach transitions carefully. For a sloping driveway or regular hilly route, ask MoveSmart to help assess the whole journey: gradient, crossfall, grip and safe places to stop or turn. The manual distinguishes climbing from hill-holding and dynamic-stability limits, so a headline climbing angle should not be treated as a general safe-use gradient.
Battery, Charging and Travel Planning
The removable 24 V 12 Ah lithium-ion battery is rated at 288 Wh and weighs approximately 1.8 kg. It has a charging connection for use with the supplied compatible 2 A lithium charger. Removing the pack can let you charge near a suitable indoor power point while the folded scooter remains stored elsewhere.
Up to 16 km is a maximum range, not a guaranteed daily distance. Hills, rider and luggage weight, temperature, frequent stopping and battery condition affect the result. Build in a return-trip reserve and follow the supplied battery and charger instructions for regular charging and storage.
For flights, obtain the airline's approval before booking. Supply the exact battery label and 288 Wh rating, scooter model, folded size and actual travelling weight. Confirm how the airline wants the battery removed or isolated and protected, where it must be carried and what assistance is available. Folding portability does not guarantee airline acceptance.
Manual and Video
Use the manual supplied with your scooter for operation and maintenance. Product literature can show earlier configurations; the current MoveSmart supply includes removable armrests. Pride Australia's product information and supporting downloads provide additional reference material.
Frequently Asked Questions
Who is the GoGo Carbon a good fit for?
It is worth considering when you want a compact scooter for shopping, outings and travel, and one-piece folding matters more than suspension or a large seat. Check sitting comfort, steering reach, transfers and the lifting task as well as the 136 kg capacity.
Are armrests included?
Yes. MoveSmart supplies the GoGo Carbon with removable armrests as standard. Some older brochures and photographs show the scooter without them or describe them as optional.
Does the 16 kg weight include the armrests or battery?
No. The approximately 16 kg transport weight excludes both the removable armrests and the battery. The battery adds approximately 1.8 kg. The complete ready-to-use weight also includes the armrests, whose separate weight has not been confirmed.
Does it fold automatically or dismantle into smaller pieces?
It folds manually as one unit. You can remove the battery and armrests, but the chassis does not split into lighter front and rear sections. NFC is the ignition system, not a remote folding control.
Can I roll it when folded?
Yes. Once folded and secured, it can be tilted and wheeled like luggage. This helps with short transfers through a hotel, airport or car park, but you still need a suitable way to lift it into a vehicle.
Will it fit in my car boot?
Measure the boot opening, loading lip, usable internal space and room for other luggage. The manual's upright folded drawing is approximately 48 × 44.5 × 67–88 cm without armrests, with height depending on tiller position. A trial with your actual vehicle is the best way to check fit and lifting reach.
Is the seat height adjustable?
The seat height is fixed: 43 cm above the deck and 57 cm above the ground. The seat is 35.6 cm wide × 27.5 cm deep. Check thigh support, foot placement and getting on and off; the height-adjustable tiller changes the handle position, not the seat height.
Does the 136 kg capacity mean it will fit everyone below that weight?
No. Capacity is a limit, not a fit assessment. Seat dimensions, legroom, balance, control use and transfer technique all matter. Contact MoveSmart if you are unsure which scooter layout will suit you.
How much space does it need to turn?
The turning radius is approximately 134.6 cm. Although the base is narrow, you still need space to turn and approach doorways. Check corners, lift interiors and any additional width from the armrests.
Does it have suspension or pneumatic tyres?
It has no suspension and uses solid tyres. These avoid punctures and routine tyre inflation, but you will feel surface joints and bumps more than on a scooter with suspension.
Can I use it on grass, gravel or rough paths?
Choose smooth, firm, sealed surfaces wherever possible. Soft grass, loose gravel, broken paving and cross-slopes can reduce traction and stability. The low ground clearance and small solid tyres make this a poor choice for regular rough-ground use.
Can I use it on a steep driveway?
Have the route assessed before buying. A climbing specification is not a guarantee of safe stopping, turning or descending on the same slope. Grip, crossfall, transitions, rider load and weather all matter; follow the supplied manual and avoid steep or slippery routes.
How far and how fast can it travel?
The current Australian specification is up to 16 km per charge and up to 6 km/h. Actual range varies with load, hills, stop-start driving, temperature and battery condition. Plan a reserve for the return trip.
Can the battery be removed for charging?
Yes. The removable 24 V 12 Ah lithium battery has its own charging connection. Use the supplied compatible 2 A lithium charger and follow the battery-removal and charging instructions. Check that the battery is securely locked back in place before driving.
How should I look after the battery?
Charge before first use and regularly after use, following the supplied charger instructions. Store it in a dry, temperate place and do not leave it fully discharged. Avoid extreme heat or cold and do not substitute a lead-acid battery charger.
Can I take it on a plane?
Airline approval is required. Give the airline the exact model, battery label and 288 Wh rating, plus the folded dimensions and actual travelling weight. Ask about battery removal, terminal protection, cabin carriage, assistance and check-in arrangements before booking.
What does NFC ignition do?
You use the NFC key card at the console to authorise switching on. It avoids a conventional ignition key. The colour display shows operating information including battery level, speed setting and speed; it does not make the scooter remote controlled.
How do I clean and store it?
The seat base and back are removable for cleaning. Follow the manual's cleaning instructions, dry components before refitting and keep water away from the controls and electrics. Store the scooter indoors in a dry location.
How does it compare with the S50 Carbon?
Both are carbon-fibre folding travel scooters. The S50's 13 kg transport figure excludes its battery, cushion, armrests, storage bag and wheel trim kit; the GoGo Carbon's 16 kg figure excludes its battery and armrests. The GoGo supports 136 kg compared with the S50's 120 kg. Compare the exact lifting configuration and seating fit rather than weight alone.
Can MoveSmart deliver this travel scooter around New Zealand?
Yes, delivery can be arranged across New Zealand. Before ordering, talk to MoveSmart about your vehicle, lifting arrangements, seating fit and intended routes so we can help check the practical details.
What warranty applies?
Contact MoveSmart for the current New Zealand warranty terms for the supplied scooter and battery. Published regional documents differ, so overseas warranty periods should not be assumed to apply.
