Overview

Pride Mobility Jazzy Carbon LiteStream Powered Wheelchair

The Pride Mobility Jazzy Carbon LiteStream is a lightweight folding rear-wheel-drive power chair designed for travel and everyday portability. It supports users up to 136 kg, reaches up to 6 km/h and has a stated maximum range of up to 20 km, depending on the battery configuration and operating conditions.

The carbon-fibre frame folds using a simple one-lever mechanism, while the chair's heaviest listed piece is approximately 15.3 kg with the battery removed. A 45 × 45 cm seat, electromagnetic braking, rear LED lighting and compact 95 × 62 cm footprint make it well suited to vehicle transport, indoor manoeuvring and suitable smooth outdoor surfaces.

Why the Carbon LiteStream Suits Travel

The key advantage is how much chair can be packed into a comparatively light folding frame. Removing the lithium battery reduces the lifting weight of the main chair, and the one-lever fold avoids the multi-piece dismantling process used by many conventional portable power chairs.

That does not make a 15.3 kg chair effortless for every person to lift. Before relying on it for car travel, check the boot opening, lifting height and who will actually handle the chair. A trial is worthwhile if portability is the main reason for choosing it.

Carbon LiteStream, Carbon Ultra Light or Jazzy Passport?

The Carbon LiteStream belongs with MoveSmart's travel-focused folding chairs. Compare it with the Jazzy Carbon Ultra Light when you want another carbon-fibre option with the same 136 kg user rating and an approximately 15.3 kg chair weight without the battery. The Jazzy Passport is a compact folding alternative with a 113 kg user rating and an approximately 24.4 kg heaviest piece, so it is relevant when compact storage matters but minimum lifting weight is not the only priority.

All three are designed around transport and everyday manoeuvrability rather than the heavier-duty suspension, powered seat elevation or highly configurable seating found on larger powerchairs. Check seat fit, the complete lifting routine, the vehicle opening and battery travel requirements before choosing.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the maximum user weight?

The maximum user weight is 136 kg.

How fast does the Jazzy Carbon LiteStream travel?

The listed maximum speed is 6 km/h.

How far can it travel on one charge?

The stated maximum range is up to 20 km with the appropriate battery configuration. Actual range depends on battery size, user weight, terrain, gradients, battery condition, temperature and driving style.

How compact is it for transport?

The chair folds using a one-lever mechanism. Pride lists overall dimensions of approximately 95 cm long by 62 cm wide when open, and the heaviest listed piece is approximately 15.3 kg with the battery removed.

Does the chair dismantle into several sections?

No. Its main portability feature is the folding carbon-fibre frame rather than multi-piece dismantling. The battery can be removed separately.

Is 15.3 kg the complete travelling weight?

No. That figure refers to the heaviest listed piece with the battery removed. The battery and any accessories still need to be handled separately.

What size is the seat?

The listed seat size is approximately 45 × 45 cm.

What braking system does it use?

It uses electromagnetic braking, which engages when drive input is released.

Is it mainly an indoor chair?

Its compact folding design is well suited to indoor and travel use. It can also be used on suitable smooth outdoor surfaces, but it is not an all-terrain power chair.

Can I take the Jazzy Carbon LiteStream on an aeroplane?

The standard lithium battery used with this type of travel power chair may be suitable for air transport, but airline and dangerous-goods requirements vary. Always confirm the battery's watt-hour rating and obtain approval from your airline before travelling. Higher-capacity battery options may be subject to different restrictions and should not be assumed to be airline approved.

Should I trial the chair before buying?

Yes where practical, particularly if seat fit, joystick position, lifting weight or vehicle loading are important to you.

Is this power chair available for delivery across New Zealand?

We can and do deliver to customers across New Zealand — however, mobility scooters and power chairs are more complex products and can be sizeable, so we generally recommend finding a local retailer who can provide hands-on service and ongoing support. It is also a good idea to test-drive or trial a power chair before committing to a purchase. MoveSmart focuses its sales and servicing within the Central Plateau region, but we are always happy to chat. Get in touch and we can offer advice, suggest a trusted dealer closer to you, or work with you to tailor a solution.

AA Mobility Care Membership
Yellow Auto Centre building with AA Motoring branding under a blue sky.

AA Mobility Care Membership provides peace of mind with comprehensive cover for your mobility equipment.

Every mobility scooter purchased via MoveSmart Mobility Equipment now comes with a 3 year AA Mobility Care Membership!

Where a nominated mobility scooter has become immobile, the AA will attend and, and if they are unable to mobilise the scooter, they will either:

Deliver the owner to their home address and arrange for the mobility scooter to be delivered to the owner's home address as soon as practicable or, if the owner wishes to remain with the mobility scooter, the AA will arrange for recover of both the mobility scooter and the owner to the owner's home address by means of a taxi van. This service is free of charge to the owner, as the cost of the taxi is charged back to the AA.

The AA will not attend any mobility scooter that is immobile at the owner's home address which requires repairs to be carried out.

Mobility Van or Taxi Assistance

Within metropolitan areas only, where mobility vans are available, the AA will make all necessary arrangements to ensure both the owner and their mobility scooter are transported to the owner's home address (or an alternative address as specified by the owner at the time, providing that the distance to the alternative address is no greater than to the home address).

In order for the AA to provide service, the owner must remain with the mobility scooter until the AA Service Provider arrives.
