Rental Terms & Conditions

A. General Terms

By placing a rental order through MoveSmart Mobility Equipment, you agree to the following terms and conditions. This agreement governs the rental of mobility equipment including (but not limited to) mobility scooters, lift chairs, walkers, and wheelchairs.

B. Placing an Order

  1. Select your desired rental product and duration via our website.
  2. Enter your shipping details and payment information to complete the order.
  3. A refundable deposit will be charged at the time of booking. This deposit will be returned upon safe and undamaged return of the equipment.

C. Delivery & Collection

  1. We will deliver the equipment to the address provided on the start date of your rental or contact you to arrange an alternative.
  2. Delivery and collection are managed by MoveSmart to ensure a smooth experience.
  3. The Client must be present at both delivery and collection for inspection and acknowledgment. Equipment will not be left unattended.
  4. A penalty fee may apply if the Client is unavailable at the agreed time, to cover transport and staff costs.

D. Owner Responsibility

  1. MoveSmart will supply equipment in good working condition.
  2. Rechargeable equipment will be delivered fully charged.
  3. MoveSmart and its staff are not liable for any accidents or injuries resulting from use of the equipment and are absolved from third-party claims.

E. Client Responsibility

  1. The Client is responsible for ensuring the equipment is suitable for their needs and used safely.
  2. Full instruction on proper use must be received before accepting the equipment.
  3. The Client is liable for any damage, loss, or theft of the equipment during the rental period.
  4. Any pre-existing damage must be noted and initialled during delivery inspection. Unreported damage found upon return will be charged accordingly.
  5. If damage or loss exceeds the deposit, the Client agrees to pay the full replacement or repair cost.
  6. Any faults, damage, or incidents causing injury must be reported immediately.
  7. Rechargeable batteries must be maintained and charged using only the supplied equipment. Damage due to misuse will be charged in full.
  8. Equipment must be fully charged prior to collection.

F. Late Returns

  1. Late returns may incur a fee deducted from the deposit.
  2. Fees are calculated based on the duration beyond the agreed rental period.
  3. Excessive delays may result in forfeiture of the deposit and further action.

G. Deposit Refund

  1. Upon return, equipment will be inspected.
  2. If returned in original condition with no missing parts, the full deposit will be refunded.
  3. If damaged or lost, a portion or all of the deposit may be retained to cover costs.

H. Regional Service Limitations

  1. Mobility scooters and lift chairs are only available for delivery and rental within the Taupo/Rotorua region.
  2. For rentals outside this region, please contact us directly to discuss availability, delivery options, and associated costs.

I. Agreement & Acceptance

By submitting your rental order online, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to the above terms. This digital acceptance serves as your binding agreement with MoveSmart Mobility Equipment.
