Overview

Compact Dismantling Powerchair for Indoor Mobility and Vehicle Transport

The Merits Regal EZ P321A is a compact dismantling powerchair designed for users who need powered mobility around the home and community but also want a chair that can be broken down for vehicle transport. Its high-strength steel frame separates into sections, with the heaviest dismantled component weighing approximately 25 kg.

The Regal EZ supports users up to 115 kg, reaches up to 6.5 km/h and provides a stated driving range of up to 15 km. A compact 53 cm turning radius and 55 cm overall width make it particularly useful in tighter indoor spaces.

Where the Regal EZ Fits in the MoveSmart Powerchair Range

The Regal EZ sits in the same transport-focused part of the range as the Pride Go Chair. Both dismantle for transport, but they use different chassis, seating and drive layouts, so the best choice depends on how the chair fits the user and how the sections will be lifted into the vehicle.

If minimum lifting weight is the priority, the Jazzy Ultra Light is significantly lighter and folds as one carbon-fibre chair rather than dismantling into separate sections.

If vehicle transport is less important than tighter mid-wheel handling and suspension, a chair such as the Jazzy Select 6 may be the more suitable everyday option.

Dismantling Design for Car Transport

The Regal EZ is designed to come apart for transport and storage. Removing the seat, battery section and other components reduces the size of the individual lifts compared with handling the complete chair.

The heaviest dismantled section is approximately 25 kg. That is lighter than moving the complete chair, but still substantial, so it is important to check the lifting ability of the person loading it and the height and shape of the vehicle boot.

Compact 53 cm Turning Radius

The chair measures approximately 86 cm long × 55 cm wide × 92 cm high. A 53 cm turning radius makes it highly manoeuvrable for a rear-wheel-drive powerchair and well suited to domestic spaces, hallways, kitchens and other indoor environments.

Ground clearance is approximately 4.5 cm, so the Regal EZ is best used on indoor floors, smooth paths and other formed surfaces rather than rough outdoor terrain or large kerbs.

Adjustable Seating and Joystick Position

The seat is approximately 46 cm wide × 38 cm deep, with a seat height range of approximately 51–56 cm. Flip-up armrests and adjustable seating features help with transfers and day-to-day comfort.

The joystick can be positioned on either side, which is useful when the user has a stronger or preferred operating hand. Armrest position and control reach should be set so the user can drive without leaning or reaching excessively.

Battery, Range and Braking

The Regal EZ uses two 12V 14Ah batteries with an off-board 2A charger. Maximum range is up to 15 km, with real-world distance affected by user weight, terrain, gradients, temperature and battery condition.

Regenerative and electro-mechanical braking brings the chair to a controlled stop when the joystick is released.

Is this powerchair available for delivery across New Zealand?

We can and do deliver to customers across New Zealand — however, powerchairs are complex products and ongoing support matters. We generally recommend a local trial and access to servicing where possible. MoveSmart focuses its hands-on sales and servicing within the Central Plateau region. AA Mobility Care Membership provides peace of mind with comprehensive cover for your mobility equipment.

Every mobility scooter purchased via MoveSmart Mobility Equipment now comes with a 3 year AA Mobility Care Membership!

Where a nominated mobility scooter has become immobile, the AA will attend and, and if they are unable to mobilise the scooter, they will either:

Deliver the owner to their home address and arrange for the mobility scooter to be delivered to the owner's home address as soon as practicable or, if the owner wishes to remain with the mobility scooter, the AA will arrange for recover of both the mobility scooter and the owner to the owner's home address by means of a taxi van. This service is free of charge to the owner, as the cost of the taxi is charged back to the AA.

The AA will not attend any mobility scooter that is immobile at the owner's home address which requires repairs to be carried out.

Mobility Van or Taxi Assistance

In order for the AA to provide service, the owner must remain with the mobility scooter until the AA Service Provider arrives.
